Some people believe that the name of the game originates from “Crabs”. It was a kind of 2 roll game, played in England. The father of Craps is John H. Winn. He transformed all the games mentioned above into what we know as Craps now. He made a layout of the game, created the Pass and Don’t Pass bets and invented Big 6 and Big 8 bets. Winn is the author of the rules of modern Craps as well.

Today Craps are popular not only in America, but all over the world. Great role in spreading Craps was played by American soldiers who took their favorite game with them during the Second World War. Then the game gained great popularity thanks to Hollywood movies. Finally, with the appearance of Internet and online gambling Craps became one of the most popular casino games.
